Mdm Goh Hong Eng, 83, widowed, stays with her son, Ah beng, 65, in a 1-room rental flat at Meiling Street.

She suffers from hypertension, severe hearing impairment and osteoarthritis. Her son, who is mentally challenged, is unable to work and have difficulties taking care of her. They depend on the $500 financial assistance they receive every month to survive.

Mdm Goh was referred to us for home help services in Oct 2009 by Alexandra Hospital after suffering a fall at home. Due to her frail and sickly condition, she has difficulty getting her own meals, going for medical appointments, housekeeping chores and personal hygiene.

After assessing her case, we decided to assist her and her son with our home help services. Due to their financial hardship, we decided to waive all charges to them.
